Missing if found call (523) 845-6859

Ian's aunt and uncle had called her that morning asking if he was here. They sounded really worried when she said that he wasn't. She went over the list of places he would be. She couldn't think of one that his aunt and uncle hadn't checked.

After they called back saying that they still couldn't find him and that they put in a missing person's report she got even more worried. This wasn't like him at all. The intense emotions where bubbling in her chest. She wanted to run and find him. She was so scared that something bad happened to him.

A few hours later a wolf roamed the hallways of the big house. It was scared and confused and tried to keep out of sight. People couldn't' see it. The wolf didn't know why but it knew that it was important.

Caleb walked up the short sidewalk leading to his house. He'd been at Cole's. Since he ended up there almost every day, ate dinner there, too. It was late when he finally got home, so he had his key ready when he got to the door. He kicked off his shoes and was about to head upstairs when he noticed the house felt off. Caleb paused, trying to stretch his senses. The lights were all off, there wasn't any dinner smells coming from the kitchen. Dad must be working late again. He shrugged. Christine and Caleb rarely were home anymore, what with him having somewhere to be and her having Ian.

As he got closer to his bedroom, the strange sense that something was wrong hadn't disappeared.

The wolf slowly walked down the hallway towards where she would be safe. She stopped though when she smelled something, someone. There was someone here. She whinnied softly and started to back down the hallway to go the way she just came. She couldn't get caught by humans.

Caleb caught the whine just as his door opened, almost lost under the squeak of the hinges. He glanced over his shoulder, feeling foolish and paranoid and he just wanted to hide in his room until whatever it was left and ho my god that is a really big dog...

"Christine?!"

She got really low to the ground and whinnied again. She froze though when the boy talked. The name sounded very familiar. The voice from the boy too.. But she backed up still slowly not sure if she should move forward.

His eyebrows knitted together and he slowly turned toward the animal. Maybe he was wrong. He'd seen Christine as a wolf before, she looked familiar, but this wolf didn't seem to know him.

"Christine?" he asked again, trying to keep calm. The last thing Caleb wanted was to spook her.

She sniffed the air but stopped moving backwards. She whined again just a little louder cocking her head. Why was he so familiar? She didn't know but maybe this human was ok? Maybe?

Dammit this was terrifying. Still, he crouched down, extending his hand toward his terrified sister. "Hey, what's up? You trapped in there?" Is that how, uh, lycanthropy works? Can the person get lost in the beast? He shook his head of the thought. Christine was in there, and she can get back out.

She sniffed again and came forward very slowly. She kept an eye on the boy. He smelled like home, but he was human. How did that work? Oh well he should be ok to go to. Right?

He let her take her time, even if he had a hard time breathing. "So what's wrong? Anything? You are Christine, right?" Oh god, when was dad due home? That is not something Caleb wants to explain.

She sniffed his hand when she got closer. He was defiantly an ok person. Though she didn't really understand the words he was saying. They sounded familiar but? She tilted her head sitting down in front of him.

Caleb couldn't figure it out. If she was stuck, how she'd get there? Can she even get stuck? He frowned. "Let's, uh, go in my room. I'll give Ian a call. He can help you." He tried to give her a smile but it felt false on his face.

Ian? She whimpered more and lowered her head ears to her skull. Ian, there was... Oh god.. She looked back up at her brother and ran past him to his room.

Caleb stood up quick, following her into his room. He threw open his bag on his bed and fished out his cell. Finding Ian in his contacts, he hit send and waited. And waited. Then the voice mail came up. Huh.

"Hey, it's um Caleb. Call me back as soon as you get this." He dropped his phone on his bed, looking for Christine.

She went under the bed and watched him try and call Ian. She whined more when he didn't get a response an laid her head on her paws. Where was Ian, why would he just disappear.

Caleb dropped to the floor, eventually laying down on his stomach. His chin rested on his folded hands. "What's wrong, Christine? I can't understand you like this." He felt awful for his sister. Something really bothered her and he didn't know what.

She looked at her brother and scooted forward. She nuzzled the side of his face before moving out from under the bed. She jumped on the bed and grabbed nosed his phone at him.

Caleb smiled at the affection she showed him. It was sweet, if not a little wet. He stood up after her, watching her antics. His eyebrows stitched together.

"Who do you want me to call? Ian's probably at work, that's why he couldn't answer."

She barked at Ian's named but whined when he said at work and shook her head. Ian wasn't at work he was missing.

Caleb raised his eyebrows. "Did you guys get in a fight? That's, um, kinda weird." He sat down, angled his body towards her. "Fights, ya know, they happen. I guess. He'll get over it."

She whined again shaking her head and laid down no the bed. She laid her head on her brother's leg. It was comforting. Not being alone. She wanted to not be like this. She wanted to explain but she didn't know how.

His hand found the top of her head. "Oh c'mon. The fight couldn't have been that bad. He'll see it your way or else um. I dunno. I don't think I could hurt him." He frowned, sorry he couldn't do more for Christine.

She humphed and shook her head again. She tried to think of how to tell him. She got an idea, it was weird being her and not human but maybe. She jumped off her bead and ran to her room.

Caleb watched her leave, confused and worried. It must have been a brutal fight. Suddenly, he was worried something else had caused them to fight. Like alcohol. As far as he knew, they rarely fought, and the only reason they did was...gross, no, he didn't want to think of that. But it wasn't a problem now. Gross. So alcohol had to be the culprit, right? And that could mean things got physical. And if that were true, if Ian, kind, sweet Ian who Caleb trusted to take care of his sister, then kind, sweet Ian would have to be punished. Caleb hated thinking that.

Christine rumanged around her room trying to find something anything. She didn't find it here damit. She now wished she hadn't tossed her board games. She ran back to her brothers room and nudged his phone. Then she hid her head under his blanket before pulling it out and looking at him.
